I have seen a lot of things written recently about essential oils. I usually prefer to use natural products, when possible, so when Suzanne from Healthy Ever Afters contacted me about trying doTERRA oils, I was very interested in trying them.
What I received:
Intro Kit: 5ml bottles of Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint and 15mL bottle of Wild Orange essential oils
I used the list of 101 Uses for the Intro Kit for most of the options that I tried.
I mixed the lavender and mint oils together and then applied them to my feet after standing for most of the day at work. It produced a subtle cool feeling that I loved after a long day.
I used this one on some of my silver pieces that were starting to tarnish. It wiped away the minor tarnish spots. I am going to add this to my usual baking soda paste the next time that I polish the silver.
I also added this to the dish washer soap and everything smelled incredibly fresh and clean.
I used this (mixed with coconut oil) on my son's back when he was sick this weekend. He felt that it helped his stuffiness and his headache.
This was my favorite! Suzanne suggested a combination of Wild Orange and Peppermint. I have chronic pain in my neck and I have used this combination multiple times since I received my oils. To be very frank, I was kind of dubious about all of the claims that I have read about essential oils. I can't speak to other people's experiences, but I know this felt great on my neck. About a minute after I put it on, it produced a subtle tingling feeling in my neck that was very relaxing and helped my pain.
My Overall Experience:
A little goes a long way! When the instructions say you only need one or two drops, they mean it! When I used any of the oils with my children, I mixed it with coconut oil first. I loved the scent of all of them and I will continue to try different uses for them.
